South Sharpley Windfarm
Pegasus was appointed by Cornwall Light and Power to provide a Landscape and Planning Statement for a proposed new wind farm near Seaham, Easington in County Durham.
The proposed development, consisting of three turbines (100m high to blade tip), was submitted to Easington Council in 2010. Our assessment of the site considered the effects the proposed development would have on nearby residential properties. Due to the concentration of existing wind farms in the area, special consideration was given to the cumulative impacts the new development would have along with the existing localised wind farms already surrounding residential properties.
A list of key receptors was agreed with the Local Authority and detailed photomontage visualisations were produced to show the proposed wind turbines in the current landscape, alongside the existing turbines.
Pegasus was instructed to provide evidence for an appeal which was successful, approving the proposed development.
