Pegasus Urban Design and Planning successfully gained approval for 214 dwellings and associated areas of open space in Ibstock, Leicestershire.
The design approached created a main street focus to the development connecting the two site access points. Particular emphasis was placed on defining a character reminiscent of the older parts of Ibstock and introducing features that reflect a North West Leicestershire vernacular.
The Design and Access Statement that accompanied the application highlighted the components of the design approach and assessed the scheme in relation to Building For Life criteria. The site is currently under construction and was recently awarded an ‘A’ rating under the Council’s ourplaceTM initiative.
