Pegasus Environmental was commissioned to provide strategic and detailed landscape design for the re-development of the Massey Ferguson/AGCO tractor manufacturing plant, on the western edge of Coventry, to accommodate an outline planning consent for 380 residential units.
As part of the Arboricultural service that Pegasus Environmental provides, a tree survey of the site was undertaken in accordance with BS.5837:2005. The tree survey identified those existing trees worthy of retention and was used to inform the design evolution of the site.
A landscape strategy document was produced which provided context to the site’s history, existing landscape character and suggested landscape design principles. The landscape strategy graphically illustrated how the hard and soft landscape treatment within the proposed phased residential development might appear.
A landscape masterplan was also produced that demonstrated how the individual spaces and components of the propose landscape would combine together in a clear and cohesive whole.
Pegasus Environmental has gone on to produce detailed hard landscape and planting plans for the scheme and the first phases of the development have either been constructed or implementation is well underway. Further phases are in preparation and Pegasus Environmental is assisting with these.
